Bond number 9 is a new company that is based in New York and their fragrances are best know for depicting New York City and it’s neighborhoods. The Bond No. 9 is names after a boutique at 9 Bond Street in NoHo or North of Houston Street. The company was formed by the French perfume expert Laurice Rahme, he as lived in New York for over 25 years and decided to give the neighborhoods of New York a tribute.
Bond No. 9 has 4 stores in Manhattan and is only sold at Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide. It is internationally sold in Europe, parts of Asia and ironically enough in the Middle East. You wouldn’t think that the Middle East would welcome perfumes named after American neighborhoods, but what the heck right?
The company plans to expand into cosmetics within the next few years. Some of the perfumes they currently sell are the Chinatown, Chelsea Flower, Nuits de Noho, this perfume was names after the nightlife in the very chic neighborhood of North of Houston. Perfumes named after New York City neighborhoods is a great idea and it is a best selling perfume here in New York. It shows the great city of New York has the reputation to even become the subject of perfumes.
